Learn this light bringing art form of our ancestors that dates back thousands of years. Beeswax has been revered for its clean burning bright light, reserved for sacred spaces in its early days.

Today, beeswax is loved for the same reasons, as this pure and natural medium provides a cleaner, brighter and toxic free burn compared to other waxes available. In this workshop you will make your own pair of hand dipped beeswax candles and learn the history of beeswax candles and the health bringing properties they offer us.

Learn the basics of beeswax candle crafting from a skilled candler, covering the materials and equipment that are used, the synergy of wick size selection, ideal beeswax temperature range, and some creative variations that can be utilized when crafting.

Together, we will take turns dipping 100% cotton wicks into the pot of beeswax to create your own pair of beeswax taper candles to take home with you.

Lexi has been in relationship with the honeybee through the practice of beekeeping since 2015, and exploring and deepening in beeswax crafting since 2017, establishing Buzz In The Hills in 2018 that has evolved just as much as her skill in the craft through years of study and experimenting to discover her own relationship with the traditional crafts of beeswax and herbalism.

This class will be outside under a covered pavilion.
Students should wear clothes & shoes you would not mind getting a bit of wax on!
